**Job Description** **POSITION SUMMARY:** The position is a Full-Time Faculty Position in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Responsibilities include programmatic provision of patient care services, clinical and laboratory research, supervision and education of fellows, residents, and medical students and administrative duties as required. The Faculty Physician will interface with nursing services, medical staff, administrative support staff, hospital administration, as well as outside agencies. **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1. Programmatic and Administrative _* To the extent that these Programmatic services involve your professional physician clinical services, you shall at all times be acting and serving as an independent contractor with respect to the Medical Center. The Medical Center shall neither have nor exercise any control or direction over the methods by which you perform your professional physician clinical services._ 1. Daily evening rounds with residents and fellows and medical students on service. 2. Evening sign out rounds with the Chief Resident to identify any reproductive endocrinology problem patients for the on-call team and to review assignments for the next day as needed. 3. Participate in weekly conferences to discuss problems and interesting patients from a management standpoint and to go over evaluation theoretical differential diagnoses. 4. Participate in grand rounds, resident lectures, medical student lectures, fellow teaching. 5. Assist in the coordination of grand rounds and journal club on a rotational basis with other department faculty and staff. 6. Attend faculty meetings, department and divisional educational conferences and programs. 7. Participate in Medical Center and Department PIC’s and Quality Improvement. 8. Participate in the development of clinical pathways and systems that enhance quality outcomes and facilitate ongoing improvement. 9. Maintain clinical practice under the auspices of the Department. 10. Participate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility (REI) Division weekend coverage as needed. 11. Will be covering REI clinical duties at our Tarzana Women’s Health Office. 2.Teaching and Research 1. Participate in monthly journal review highlighting recent articles with emphasis on reproductive endocrinology and infertility. 2. Emphasize teaching the process of evaluation, the approach to the patient, ethical issues, and bedside manner. 3. Other teaching responsibilities as required. 4. Collaborates and initiates research protocols aimed at improving care and outcomes with women reproductive challenges. 5. Presents data and findings at conferences and in peer reviewed publications. 6. Participates in research programs as agreed upon by the Division Director and Chair. 3. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards including quality assurance and licensure requirements within the divisions. Assist in establishing and maintaining a quality assurance program acceptable to the Medical Center as required by The Joint Commission, state, and other agencies, which shall include a systematic review of the quality, safety, and appropriateness of services rendered. 4. Pursuant to the Minimum Necessary Information Access Policy the minimum access to individually identifiable patient information permitted for this individual is secured and maintained in the home department’s employee file. **Qualifications** **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** 1. Medical Degree from an accredited medical school 2. Board Certification (or eligibility) in Obstetrics and Gynecology with additional training and expertise in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. 3. Unrestricted California license as Physician. 4. MedicalCenter Medical Staff Membership 5. Eligible for recommendation in the appropriate rank at the UCLA School of Medicine. 6. A track record of excellence in teaching, patient care, and administration. 7. Computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of windows and/or a comparable operating system that sufficiently provides for access to patient and other business information.
