OBED Care Technician

Summary

The OBED Care Technician is responsible for assisting in the OBED Unit for direct patient care under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse and with clerical /transcription duties.  Activities and tasks are based on the unit's specific needs and standards and are performed within the scope of education, training and experience of the OBED Care Technician. The staff member must be competent and apply knowledge in aseptic technique and laboratory services.  An OBED Tech demonstrates competency in handling the adolescent and adult age group.

 

Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities included, but are not limited to:

General Patient Care/Procedures Clerical Management Activities/Unit Secretary Maintain and promote effective relationships with peers, physicians, other hospital departments, patients, and families Assure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by following all safety precautions and procedures in the performance of job duties Demonstrate the ability to contribute to a healthy, collaborative, open work environment that is conducive to teamwork and encourages communication

 

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: Certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

BLS Certified, or obtain within 90 days of hire
