As part of the Order to Cash (Accounts Receivable) team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient, accurate, and business-relevant processes—covering order validation, billing, tax classification, revenue recognition, and trade receivables analysis, including Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). Our team supports SumUp’s markets in Western Europe (Ireland, France, Italy, Netherlands), the UK, USA, and Australia, collaborating closely with sales (retail, field, enterprise), logistics, and our in-house ERP (S4 Hana) teams. We’re also central to new product launches, designing end-to-end processes from order creation to cash collection, integrating multiple systems for a seamless flow.

What you’ll do:

Process and approve sales orders in Salesforce and SumUp Shop, ensuring accurate automated billing and revenue recognition across platforms (Subscription, Online Shop, Salesforce, and S4Hana) in line with IFRS standards. Manage trade receivables end-to-end: validate allocations, handle disputes and credit notes, perform aging analysis, calculate impairments, and support dunning processes. Ensure compliance with VAT/sales tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions and collaborate on audits and compliance reporting. Analyze period-end revenue, investigate variances, and prepare financial insights to support business decisions. Participate in new product launches, process improvements, automation initiatives, and cross-functional knowledge-sharing sessions (Show & Tell, AMAs). Use tools like Slack, Notion, and AI solutions (Langdock, Notion AI, ChatGPT, Gemini, Dust) to drive productivity and collaboration.

 

You’ll be great for this role if:

You have a foundational understanding of revenue recognition principles and billing processes. You have at least 2-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in Accounts Receivable or Order to Cash processes. You can perform reconciliations and prepare accounting data to support financial reports, audits, and problem-solving. You are proficient in Excel and have a good understanding of accounting software (SAP knowledge is a plus). You have excellent attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data. You’re fluent in English and another European language.
