VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT:  NURSING OFFICER

Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed individual for the position of Nursing Officer to join the versatile Healthy&Safety team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal health of all LMC employees, contractors and their dependents.

Your Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

Triaging of patients.

Recording vital signs observation on all patients.

Providing nursing care to admitted patients.

Interview patients, diagnose and treat uncomplicated simple ailments, referring these to the doctor where appropriate.

Maintain up-to-date nursing records in line with professional standards

Liaise with other health care professions to provide optimum management of patients

Carry out pre-employment functional assessment of all prospective employees on a task-specific requirement.

Monitor and report the incidence of infectious diseases such as diarrhea and malaria, and report these to the district health office.

 

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

Full Grade 12 School Certificate.

Minimum Diploma in nursing from a reputable training institution. 

A qualification or experience in critical care nursing is an added advantage

Minimum 3 years clinical experience

Good written and oral communication skills in English

Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Office packages such as excel

Strong report writing and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness

High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
