Position Summary

In this dual role, you will serve as both a Professional Nurse and a Nursing Instructor, blending clinical expertise with teaching excellence. As a Nursing Instructor, you will guide and evaluate students in the clinical setting, ensuring they gain the knowledge and experience to deliver safe, high-quality care. As a Professional Nurse, you will serve as a role model and direct care provider, setting standards of excellence in nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Instruction & Education

Guide, instruct, and evaluate nursing students during clinical practicum experiences.

Provide clinical instruction grounded in best practices and current nursing education theory.

Create meaningful, individualized clinical assignments based on student learning needs.

Deliver timely and constructive feedback and evaluations to students.

Demonstrate clinical competence and serve as a mentor and preceptor.

Promote cultural competency, civility, and inclusion in educational settings.

Nursing Practice & Leadership

Serve as a role model in clinical practice, demonstrating critical thinking and sound clinical judgment.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Apply the nursing process using Relationship-Based Care principles to meet holistic patient needs.

Document and communicate patient care effectively across the care team.

Lead or support quality improvement and evidence-based initiatives.

Demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Educational & Organizational Engagement

Participate in faculty committees and contribute to school governance.

Utilize information technology to enhance the teaching-learning process.

Support continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, and clinical education.

Build and maintain positive relationships with students, peers, patients, and faculty.
