Minimum Qualifications
Six months of experience or training in patient care; OR
Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate; OR
Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician Program.
NOTE:
Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Measures temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight; records in patients medical record.
May assist with documenting admission of new patients on medical record.
Provides care to patients such as ambulating, feeding, bathing, positioning and lifting.
May sterilize equipment and supplies.
Distributes clean linen, washes, dries, sorts, folds, and stores patients clothing.
Position-Specific Details:
This position is located in the Nursing Department of the LA Veterans Home inJackson, Louisiana.
Appointment Type: Full-Time Position Probational
Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group , vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Nursing Assistant 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience
Work Schedule: Work hours are 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM / 6:00PM to 6:30AM. Alternant weekends.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. (CNA 1 Special Entrance Rate) $13.74 & (CNA 2 Special Entrance Rate) $ 14.70 hourly (base pay), plus shifts differentials and premium pay of $3.00 per hour worked.
