The Zeeland Hospital Float Pool Nursing Tech is cross trained to Med Surg, ICU, and Emergency departments. You will also learn the Unit Secretary role for Family Birth Center and Med Surg. The Float Pool offers an opportunity to learn a broader skill set and provide coverage for nursing departments. You are able to enhance your skills by working in these departments while still feeling like you belong to a team.

Scope of work
Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
