Nurse Supervisor - Med Surg Observation Tele (8AB)
Will be responsible for off shift coverage. No weekends, no holidays
The Nurse Supervisor coordinates the daily operations of the nursing department, including but not limited to: staff scheduling, program planning, resource management, quality improvement, quality patient care and supervision/development of staff in accordance with all professional, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Essential Functions
Provides leadership through role modeling, mentoring, and coaching
Collaborates with manager to recruit, hire, orient, and train new employees
Demonstrates ability in problem solving by analyzing each situation and assessing available resources.
Formulates relationship with all departments to promote teamwork.
Directs activities of the department in accordance with hospital policies, objectives, and applicable local, state, and federal regulation.
Acts as a resource person for patients, families, and hospital and medical staff.
Assists with direct patient care to ensure safe and effective care in all urgent and emergent situations.
Demonstrates proficiency in critical nursing skills
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by calculating staffing needs based on acuity and emergent situations to ensure the most efficient and effective use of staff.
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mission and Core Values
Collaborates with manager to conduct annual and ongoing appraisal of employee performance, communicates job standards and expectations
Assist implementing measures of quality improvement to align with key performance indicators.
