UMass Memorial Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Advanced Therapeutics Cardiometabolic (CMB) and Medical Weight Loss (MWL) programs. As part of an academic health system, this remote role offers the opportunity to deliver cutting-edge, patient-centered care to a complex and expanding patient population.

With a surge in referrals and the rising complexity of care needs, our programs are expanding to meet demand. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will play a pivotal role in managing patients requiring intensive medication management, close safety monitoring, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Major Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough health histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations tailored to patient age and history.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests; analyze findings to establish differential diagnoses.

Collaborate with physicians to formulate and manage patient care plans, ensuring patient involvement in decision-making.

Manage treatment protocols for patients with acute illnesses, adjusting plans as needed to meet health goals.

Document patient outcomes and communicate effectively with physicians and care teams.

Prescribe medications within scope of practice and comply with regulatory requirements.

Provide patient education and coordinate admissions and discharges, working alongside families and healthcare providers.

Maintain professional growth through ongoing education, workshops, and participation in departmental activities.

Qualifications:

Masters degree

Graduate of approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with certification.

BLS and ACLS certification required.

Provider experience in cardiology or medical weight loss preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.

Experience with Epic EMR is a plus.
