Responsibilities
Join our dynamic Nephrology APP team at Mayo Clinic, where you’ll deliver life-saving therapies with compassion and adaptability. This position provides a varied experience in patient care, with a primary emphasis on inpatient settings and the management of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD), and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). There is also potential for involvement in outpatient care. We’re seeking a collaborative team member who thrives in fast-paced environments and is committed to excellence in patient care.
The department would consider a full-time equivalent (FTE) commitment ranging from 0.75 to 0.9. Onboarding would be scheduled to a .9 FTE.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care across the continuum, including: Patient history and assessmentDiagnostic testing and interpretationPrescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatmentsOrdering and managing dialysis treatmentsMonitoring therapeutic effectivenessCollaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teamsDemonstrate cultural and socioeconomic sensitivity in patient careLead and contribute to committees, education, research, and performance improvement initiativesQualifications
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a:
Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP)Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (ACNP)Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGNP or AGPCNP)Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP or ACNPC-AG)Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required. BLS is required.
