The hospital was created with the merger of the former New Britain General and Bradley Memorial hospitals Affiliated with the University of Connecticut School Of Medicine The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery and a wide variety of specialtiesEstablished in the Hospital of Central Connecticuts Sleep Disorders Center provides diagnostic services and treatment for patients with all types of sleep disorders Our multidisciplinary team includes Board certified Sleep Disorders Center physicians registered technologists specialists from neurology and pulmonary medicine At the Hospital of Central Connecticuts Sleep Disorder Center the rooms are like a comfortable bedroom The center is equipped with private rooms that are sound and light controlled with individual temperature controlsHand Center HOCCIn collaboration with the Hand Center Surgical Staff this role is responsible for providing skilled health care to patients in a hospital setting assisting patients with upper extremity wrist and hand symptoms or diagnoses The role provides evaluation treatment and coordination of care Scope of responsibility is characterized by use of trained skills to assess plan evaluate and treat utilizing appropriate practices standards protocols and guidelinesAreas of ResponsibilityProvides direct care through consultations follow ups and post operative visits including assessment workups triage and other patient care activitiesObtains and documents health history performs and documents physical exam and orders and interprets diagnostic testsProvides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatmentCollects organizes records and discusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinical judgment based in best practice standards and evidenced based on medicinePrescribes pharmaceuticals according to patient needs and conducts appropriate patient follow up
