Nurse Pract Urgent Care
**Responsibilities** **Essential Key Job Responsibilities** + Obtain medical histories when necessary. + Perform physical exams (within established protocol). + Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines). + Order diagnostic test. + Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines). + Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for children and adults. + Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling. + Assist the doctor with office procedures. + Assure charts are signed off by the doctor within 7 days. + Maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality. + Make follow up calls to check patients progress. + Assist doctors with phone coverage + Work closely with other nurses and key healthcare staff to assure patient flow is efficient. + Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment. + Performs other duties as assigned **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** **Required Education and Experience** + Master’s degree in nursing + 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required. + 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience **Required Licensure and Certifications** Certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of TN/GA (APRN:TN/GA) Licensed as an RN in the state of TN/GA (RN:TN/GA) American Heart Association BLS (BLS-CPR) **Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training** * Effective Communication * Knowledge of the principles and skills of the nursing process to provide patient care and treatment. * Critical thinking skills * Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal * Basic Computer skills – familiarity with Windows based software programs **Summary of Essential Cognitive Functions** Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods; synthesize, coordinate, and analyze data, perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain a work pace appropriate to given work load; perform complex and varied tasks; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; get along with co-workers and peers; understand the meaning of words and how to use them appropriately and effectively; understand and remember detailed instructions; make independent decisions or exercise judgment based on appropriate information; accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control and planning. **Overview** **Job Summary / Purpose** The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician. **Pay Range** $42.78 - $50.43 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
