As a Nursing Operations Manager, you will identify problems in workflow, patient care or procedures and implement innovative solutions. You will collaborate with physicians, administrators and other professionals to facilitate the best possible healthcare experience for everyone, from patients to caregivers. Using your extensive knowledge and expertise, you will support the growth, development and advancement of nurses through their career, allowing you to make a difference in the lives of both patients and caregivers at a leadership level. This role helps ensure the smooth operations of the hospital by overseeing the flow of patients and ensuring the safety of the patients and caregivers

This position offers opportunities for growth, particularly for those looking to transition into an Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager role. You will work alongside nurse managers and directors, gaining hands-on leadership experience while also attending leadership courses and emergency management training, including the Mass Casualty course for healthcare leadership at FEMA headquarters in Anniston, Alabama. These experiences will help you further develop the skills needed for advancement.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working shifts between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Identify and ensure appropriate placement, facilitation and expedition of all patient flow transactions, including direct and emergency patient admissions and transfers, in accordance with established clinical standards and knowledge of disease entities. 

Address significant patient issues throughout the house and communicate with relevant leaders. 

Handle staffing needs and make modifications, if necessary, to ensure equitable staffing arrangements throughout the hospital. 

Manage the patient experience trans-organizationally to optimize all resources to ensure a safe and efficient environment. 

Monitor and adhere to the annual hospital operating budget. 

Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) 

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

Three years of experience in an acute care setting  

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

One year of management experience 

ED or ICU experience

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, standing, sitting.

Manual dexterity, corrected vision, hand and eye coordination.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
