Nurse Manager - Transitional Care and Med/Surg Telemetry

Mercy Hospital's 4th floor is home to the 4A Transitional Care Unit along with the 4M Med/Surg Telemetry Unit. 4A is a 12-bed unit that consists of patients who are transitioning from acute care to home or another care setting and patients who no longer require the intensity of acute hospital care but still need specialized medical, nursing or other care before discharge. 4M, on the other hand, is a 28-bed acute medical/telemetry unit that also cares for patients in an observation status. This unit is typically fast-paced and allows our caregivers to assess, diagnose and treat medical concerns with non-invasive methods. As a Nurse Manager, you will manage the delivery of care within the 4A and 4M units at Mercy Hospital. In this role, you will provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to patients while offering clinical supervision, maintaining quality outcomes and supervising all aspects of personnel management and development. Ultimately, your dedication and leadership help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience for everyone, whether they are patients, visitors or fellow caregivers. **A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 7:30AM - 4:00PM.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Manage the practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit. + Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards. + Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care. + Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services. + Supervise caregivers and promote development. + Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards. + Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments. + Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes. + Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs. + Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans. + Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities. + Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products. + Approve purchases and establish or revise inventory quotes. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross + Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience + High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area + Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) + Acute care medical telemetry background + Two years of management experience in an inpatient environment **Physical Requirements:** + Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination. + Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking. + Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range. + Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00 Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
