As a Nurse Manager for the OR/Endoscopy teams, you will manage the practice of professional nursing and the delivery of patient care on the assigned unit. This unit handles a wide range of procedures including orthopedics, general surgery, urology, GYN, plastics, podiatry, endoscopy and pain management, offering variety and professional growth opportunities. In this role, you will establish clinical direction and coordinate unit operations with other departments, while offering clinical supervision, maintaining quality outcomes and supervising all aspects of personnel management and development. Ultimately, your dedication and leadership are instrumental to the ongoing expansion of the Operating Room areas and department, significantly contributing to the enhancement of the overall Cleveland Clinic experience for patients, visitors and fellow caregivers.
This position presents opportunities for leadership development and career advancement, including the potential to lead new service lines or expanded departments, as well as consideration for promotion to Director-level roles as the hospital continues to grow.
A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
Supervise caregivers and promote development.
Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.
Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.
Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Financial acumen and understanding of cost centers
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience
High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
Demonstrated leadership, management, counseling, conflict resolution and group process skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
