throughout the region caring for patients from birth through the end of lifeJob DescriptionActing as the Manager of the Main OR Surgical Department you will work collaborativelywith the unitsclinical resource leader and the OR Educator to complete the unitsmanagement team reporting to the Clinical Director of Perioperative Services The Main Operating Room Manageracts as a leader in the development of the unit staff and is responsible for the day to day operationsAssisting the unit by taking on the charge role or going into the roomwhen staffing is low collaboration on new hire orientation being the interface between staff and surgeonsandcontinued development of current nursing student to hire programs The Hospital of Central CT isa Level III trauma center and within that designation the Main Operating Room has a varied mix of surgical volumeJob ResponsibilitiesEnsures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirementsSupporting the unit CRLcharge nurseRounding on theunitConducts hiring directing development and evaluation of staffIdentifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unitAssisting the unit by taking on the charge role or going into the roomwhen staffing is lowDevelops and implements policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services to both unitsMonitors and adheres to budget Approves or monitors expenditures purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelinesCollaborates with the nurse educator to develop programs designed to assist the staff nurse in the progression of novice to expert in the practice of nursingSystematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and services Evaluates factors related to safety outcomes effectiveness cost and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovationsProvides leadership and direction to nursing unit staffEnsures all quality financial and service benchmarks as well as compliance with environmental care standards are metCreation ofstaff schedules and staff time keepingContinued development of current nursing student to hire programsOther Duties as
