the assigned units Electrophysiology Labs Cath Labs and Cardiac Procedural Holding supports and assists the Director of Clinical Operations Heart and Vascular Institute HVIThis position has hour accountability for managing resources human material and financial to ensure quality cost effective delivery of patient services for specific patient populations in a defined area across the continuum This is accomplished by direct action delegation coaching and support of unit based shared governance councilsReports to Director of Clinical Operations Heart and Vascular Institute HVIResponsibilitiesmiddot Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirementsmiddot Conducts hiring training directing development and evaluation of staffmiddot Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unitsmiddot Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unitmiddot Monitors and adheres to budget Approves or monitors expenditures purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelinesmiddot Collaborate with the department Clinical Coordinators and Nursing Professional Development Department to develop programs designed to assist the staff nurse in the progression of novice to expert in the practice of nursingmiddot Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and servicesmiddot Evaluates factors related to safety outcomes effectiveness cost and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovationsmiddot Provides leadership and direction to nursing unit staff and has hour accountability ensuring all quality financial and service benchmarks as well as compliance credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained within Months days of hire date or job transfer datemiddot CPR certification requiredmiddot ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification preferredmiddot Certification in nursing administration is required within years of assuming positionEducationmiddot BSN required MSN preferred Exceptions to the educational requirement will be evaluated on an individual basis For example a strong candidate in the process of completing the educational requirement will be considered Continued progress toward completion of the educational
