**Description**
**PeaceHealth is seeking a Nurse Manager Long Term Care Unit for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $70.05 – $105.07.** The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Under the direction of the VP Patient Care Services/CNO, this position is responsible for the overall management of clinical related operations, services and outcomes for LTC programs and patients. This position will manage and provide nursing oversight as well as direct supervision and management of other assigned staff and the clinical relief pool.
**Essential Functions**
+ Management of Long Term Care Unit operations on a continuous basis (24 hours day to day). Together with the LTC Administrator, VP Patient Care Services and Medical Director, ensures high quality services consistent with the mission and values of the PeaceHealth system. Responsible for goals and objectives of the department and identifies, assesses, and responds to issues and problems which affect ability to meet goals/objectives
+ Provides nursing oversight. Defines the scope of nursing services and develops written policies and procedures that are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements and provision of excellence in patient care.
+ Maintains department records, policies and job profiles according to department procedures. Completes paperwork, specific projects, reports and other duties required for licensure and reimbursement to accomplish goals of the department.
+ Develops operational budget in collaboration with LTC Administrator, VP Patient Care Services and Medical Director. Operates department within approved budgets and within productivity measures.
+ Management of staff competency, qualifications and professional growth related to excellence in patient care. Ensures that appropriate licensure, certification and credentials for caregivers are collected, reviewed and maintained. Manages the development and implementation of staff orientation, ongoing training and updates regarding policies and practices.
+ Manages the Long Term Care Unit in compliance with the Alaska State Nursing Home regulations, Medicare/Medicaid Nursing Home regulations, Joint Commission and/or other regulatory agency requirements.
+ Works with LTC leadership to ensure no significant incidence of noncompliance with regulatory or accreditation standards; prepare staff for survey readiness; and organizes staff training for same. Responsible with LTC Administrator, VP Patient Care Services and CHI department for preparing evaluation agency performance against all standards in the LTC manual.
+ Develops a program in collaboration with Center for Healthcare Improvement that is organized and responsive to regulation. Communicates regional, department and regulatory directives or changes to staff in a timely manner.
+ Maintains effective liaison with physicians, hospital staff, patients and families. Provides/completes timely and accurate referrals regarding LTC.
+ Work directly with supervisors to ensure that department assignments for the provision of care are commensurate with the qualifications of caregivers; are designed to meet the specific care needs of patients; and that individual goal-directed care is provided.
+ Responsible for management of direct reports which include Charge Nurses, Nursing staff, Activities Coordinator, Social Workers, Rehabilitation and support staff. Manages the performance evaluation process for all caregivers and is responsible for hiring and performance management of all caregivers.
+ Assist LTC Administrator, VP Patient Care Services and Medical Director in preparing annual program evaluation and presentation to Governing Board.
+ Manage/supervise LTC staff competency related to use of Electronic Medical Record.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Education**
+ Accredited School of Nursing Required and
+ Bachelor's Degree Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or actively enrolled in coursework to obtain within 3 years and
+ Master's Degree Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing.
**Experience**
+ Minimum of 5 years Required: Clinical nursing experience with at least three years in LTC/Geriatric Care Services preferred and
+ Required: Work experience that demonstrates progressive leadership responsibility i.e. in Charge nurse or supervisory role
**Credentials**
+ Required: Registered Nurse in the state in which nurse will be practicing and
+ Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
**Skills**
+ Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development to meet each patient’s needs (Required)
+ Strong organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills (Required)
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Required)
+ Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications as well as relevant clinical applications (Required)

+ Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
