As a Nurse Manager HOPS for the Cardiac Cath Lab, you will manage the delivery of care in an ambulatory setting. In this role, you will also provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to patients while offering clinical supervision, maintaining quality outcomes, and supervising all aspects of personnel management and development. Ultimately, your dedication and leadership help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience for everyone, whether they are patients, visitors, or fellow caregivers.  

A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards by utilizing evidenced based practice as applicable. 

Provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients on a regular basis.

Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. 

Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. 

Foster patient satisfaction.  

Develop and maintain unit related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement. 

Attain and maintain JC and other regulatory standards. 

Manage the operation of a unit. 

Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs. 

Monitor productivity, develop quality initiatives and provide direction and supervision to the unit. 

Supervise all aspects of personnel management and development.

Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans. 

Actively promote caregivers and self-development, seeking and soliciting input from caregivers on issues. 

Provide follow-up to caregivers within an appropriate timeframe. 

Direct unit participation in the evaluation of new products. 

Approve purchases and establish and revise inventory quotes. 

Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities. 

Assist in the development and monitoring of budget. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Four years of clinical nursing experience 

High degree of clinical expertise in specialty area managed

Demonstrated skills in leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group processes  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) 

Nursing certification in a specialty area 

Two years of leadership experience (ANM role)

Procedural or Cardiology experience

Leadership experience

Prior management experience

Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
