Responsibilities

This position will oversee OBGYN and Urology for the sites of Owatonna, Red Wing, Austin and Albert Lea and will be expected to travel among these sites as needed.

The Nurse Manager - Ambulatory:

is accountable for the implementation of the vision, mission and values of Mayo Clinic and the Department of Nursing within defined areas of practice. plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the operational, fiscal and personnel activities to ensure the provision of high quality care in ambulatory and/or hospital-based procedural settings. contributes to the strategic planning process, and attainment of goals of the organization. is accountable for multiple ambulatory/procedural clinical areas and has full-time management responsibilities of clinical nursing staff. is responsible for the nursing component of the total budget and advocates for/allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice. acts as a resource and facilitates collaboration between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community. is accountable for promoting ongoing development of all staff and for maintaining a professional environment in which all staff can grow and develop. 

The role includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing participative decision making in the practice. 

Qualifications

Graduation from a baccalaureate nursing program is required.  

Graduation from an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited Master's in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, business, or health related field as approved by Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee preferred.

A minimum of three years of RN nursing practice or progressive leadership experience is required. 

Additional Qualifications:

Demonstrated leadership ability. 

Experience in the department's specialty preferred. 

Management experience preferred. 

License or Certification:

Current MN RN license required.

Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers required from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Generally Monday through Friday, Day Shift. Must be willing and flexible to work evening and weekend hours if needed. The home location (Austin, Albert Lea, Owatonna or Red Wing) is open to discussion.
