Nurse Faculty - Hybrid
**Description** **PeaceHealth is seeking a Nurse Faculty in Springfield, Oregon......** **This Hybrid role requires the incumbent to be onsite 3 or more days a week.** This Nurse Faculty position is a joint faculty role with a partnering Academic Institution. Faculty filling this role are PeaceHealth employees responsible for delivering education for a defined population or specialized subject expertise, under the direction of the affiliated academic partner and PH Department of Education Director. Faculty role acts as a Clinical Education Generalist within the Central Education team. Facilitates clinical learning experiences as a faculty member assigned with a group of students to a specific unit(s)/department. Works in collaboration with the Academic partner to provide instruction and supervision of the practice of the nursing students to the assigned learning experience. Faculty will align the learning to the to support the students' successful completion of clinical learning objectives. Integrates the learning needs of participants into instruction process. Facilitates professional growth, skill development, competency, and attainment of standards of care for direct care within patient care services, PHMG and or Ambulatory care Services. Serves as a leader and role model in advancing clinical practice to achieve better patient outcomes. Works with other clinical educators and nursing professional development specialists within the network to develop, coordinate and implement nursing, nursing support and inter-professional orientation, in-service education, and staff development programs to promote safe and effective patient-centered care. **What you will enjoy:** + Teaches identified courses for a defined population or in a specialized content area. + Organizes the education setting to ensure effective delivery of specialized content to support individual, department and/or system goals. + Incorporates adult learning principles and contemporary teaching strategies into class or online presentations. + Utilize approved tools to measure caregiver/student competence, performance and documentation of training including quality assurance and follow-up activities. + Evaluates, revises and documents improvements to current program. Submits and updates course documentation. + Creates/ Tracks measures of training effectiveness. + Uses standard templates, tools, and processes in training development, competency validation and documentation. + Assesses caregiver satisfaction and evaluate education effectiveness. + Acts as a resource to all caregivers regarding nursing, professional practice and use of equipment/ supplies in area of expertise. + Assists in the design and implementation of nursing clinical education, activities or new process/equipment using appropriate training standards, processes, templates, and course documentation forms. + Conducts learning needs assessment, facilitates practice and process changes in assigned area of expertise as directed. Rounding in hospital units to connect with preceptors and new nurses. + Participate with nurse residency program simulation training at the Health Education Center as available + Collaborates and researches best practice to promote evidence-based practice. + Ensures training and competency are documented using standard tools and learning management systems (LMS). + Completes required training and mentoring with academic partner + Follows PeaceHealth and academic partner's policies and procedures for students and faculty + Has the authority and responsibility to select appropriate [student] learning experiences in collaboration with the practice site [PeaceHealth SHMC RB] (see OSBN Div 21 Statute 851-021-0065 item 4, Standards for Approval: Facilities and Resources) + Performs other duties as assigned. **What you will bring:** + Bachelor of Science in Nursing. + Masters of Science in Nursing preferred. + Minimum of 3 years Nursing Faculty experience in a similar position. + Prior experience teaching in a clinical setting. + Registered Nurse - Oregon + Upon Hire Basic Life Support + May be required: Upon Hire Approved Specialty Certification **Additional Skills:** + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Required Demonstrated ability to engage diverse groups while also managing time to complete learning goals and objectives. + Required Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) as well as a variety of equipment or technology methodologies (as applicable to subject of instruction.) + Required Effective communication skills across multiple age groups. + Experience documenting in EPIC. **Department / Location Specific Notes:** Student Level (being taught) Education Level (of Nurse Faculty) Required/Preferred And/Or Associate Degree students: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required Or Associate Degree students: Bachelor of Science in Nursing AND a specialty certification Preferred Or Associate Degree students: Masters or higher in Nursing Preferred Bachelor Degree students: Bachelor of Science in Nursing AND in a Masters Degree nursing (or nursing/healthcare-related) program Required Or Bachelor Degree students: Bachelor of Science in Nursing AND a specialty certification Required Or Bachelor Degree students: Master of Science in Nursing (or healthcare-related field) Preferred **Working Conditions:** + Consistently operates computer and other office equipment. + Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. + Sedentary work. + Predominantly operates in an office environment. + Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting. + Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. + The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $113,588 – $170,372 annually.
