Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aNuclear Technology Center Representativesupporting Project Long Mott (Small Modular Nuclear Reactor). About you and this role As theNuclear Technology Center RepresentativeforDow,you will be expected to identify, assess, document, effectively communicate, and support advanced small modular nuclear reactor technologies and fit in Dow’s overall decarbonization strategy. Responsibilities + Produce white papers/one-pagers, presentations, sustainability recommendations, and define/support Most Effective Technology (MET) in how advanced modular nuclear reactors will intersect with Dow technology. Work will be based on in-depth expertise, scientific and economic principles, regulations, policies, and Dow’s strategic growth plans. + Provide guidance on incorporation of advanced small modular nuclear reactors into Dow’s overall decarbonization strategy. + Leads in-depth problem solving and troubleshooting on technology issues, particularly for advanced modular nuclear reactor applications within Dow’s decarbonization framework. + Participates in development of the Global Technology Plan for advanced modular nuclear reactor applications in Dow. + Increases the exchange of aligned carbon reduction technology knowledge throughout organization. + Understands, integrates, and leverages global technology and functional work processes. + Develop and broaden technical knowledge in related technical fields. + Stays current in climate change policy and nuclear technologies by attending & participating in conferences and workstreams and reviewing literature and engaging technology providers, centers of excellence, national labs, consortia, universities as well as Dow R&D. + Have demonstrated technical knowledge of power plant operations, nuclear power plant operation, and/or advanced modular nuclear reactor technologies. + Work within Energy Climate Expertise group and use area of expertise, techno-economic assessments, regulations, and policy to help influence overall energy decarbonization strategy. + Have an in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in nuclear power and a broad knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function. + Participates in external organizations to keep current and influence directions on decarbonization (nuclear) technologies and policy. Qualifications + A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking OR Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class ranking. + A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (i.e. nuclear power plant operation experience) + Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%-30% annually and meet all applicable requirements related to business travel (e.g., as to immigration and visa rules, public-health mandates, airline rules, etc.) into and out of (and physical presence in) various countries worldwide + Possession of a TWIC card or eligibility to obtain a TWIC card may be required for this position based on final hiring location. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications + Supervisory or managerial experience. This individual will be interfacing with the NRC and Dow & partner Senior Leaders and should possess the ability to manage these relationships effectively. + Experience working in a nuclear regulated environment. + Senior nuclear reactor operator license or certification or the desire to obtain. Your Skills + Technical Communication-Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. + Strategic Thinking – Ability to align nuclear solutions with decarbonization goals. + Mentorship-Provides active technical mentoring and coaching to junior level engineer and scientists. + Project Management-Ability to work independently with high levels of technical excellence and demonstrated project execution. + Policy & Regulatory Insight – Familiarity with climate policy, nuclear regulations, and global energy trends. Also ongoing industry initiatives impacting advanced nuclear reactor licensing.
