Job Title: Nuclear Process & System R&D Engineer
Location: Los Alamos, NM, US
Position Overview:
In this role, you will provide essential technical support in the development and improvement of processes while ensuring equipment operability and compliance across multiple organizational frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop, improve, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes in support of high-value production initiatives.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and adhere to Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Maintenance, and Conduct of Operations.
+ Serve as a key contributor in R&D and Operations teams, addressing engineering challenges through research, design, testing, analysis, verification, and validation of solutions.
+ Mentor early-career staff, postdocs, and students, fostering professional growth and development within the team.
+ Present findings and progress updates at project meetings, showcasing engineering assignments and collaborating on project milestones.
+ Adapt to evolving R&D demands while maintaining rigorous safety, security, compliance, and scheduled adherence.
Eligibility and Experience:
+ Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Intermediate expertise in mechanical, manufacturing, machining, or other relevant engineering disciplines.
+ Proven experience in conducting complex engineering work, including designing or reviewing projects, systems, or components.
+ Demonstrated ability in performing system and component testing, along with developing, codifying, and validating engineering requirements.
+ Strong analytical skills and a commitment to high-quality, timely deliverables.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Experience in various work environments and glovebox operations.
+ Knowledge of conducting operations principles within a nuclear facility setting.
+ Active “Q” clearance
