Nuclear Pharmacy Technician

Position Summary: Under general supervision, applies an advanced level of knowledge and experience in handling radioactive materials.

Responsibilities:

  Compounds radioactive materials into radiopharmaceuticals according to established policies and procedures. Performs a variety of highly technical tasks to ensure radiochemical purity and create pyrogen free products for administration to humans and animals. Analytical ability to gather and interpret data from various equipment readouts, and laboratory tests and evaluate results. Operate laboratory, nuclear medicine and quality assurance/equipment. Operate and utilize department equipment such as the cyclotron to produce radioactive materials and compound into products of desired diagnostic quality. Adhere to all KCI policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, or equivalent education/and or experience, and completion of accredited Technologist Program. Registered as a Medical Technologist with the ASCP, Canadian CSMLS, National Certifying Agency, or registered as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Must have working knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NCR), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), United Stated Pharmacopeia  (USP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
