What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.
Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.
The Manager, Nuclear Pharmacy oversees one of Cardinal Health’s nuclear pharmacies to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations and timely, quality delivery of radiopharmaceuticals to customers. This job’s successful management of the nuclear pharmacy drives the business units’ operating margins and earnings. With expert knowledge of the local market, the Manager provides input into short- to mid-term commercial strategy and, through strong customer service and relationships, builds the foundation for the long-term growth of the business unit.

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD requiredValid Pharmacist’s license in the state in which the pharmacy operates, or is in the process of obtaining a valid licenseMust complete at least 200 hours of academic training in a nuclear pharmacy through an accredited program8-12 years related pharmacy experience preferredMinimum of 1 year of previous supervisory experience in a health care or pharmaceutical environment preferredAbility to work various shifts (overnights, days) weekends, holidays, on call as neededAbility to work in pharmacist rotation as neededAbility to develop, implement and lead all aspects of pharmacy operationAuthorized user preferredAbility to negotiate, influence, and resolve customer/employee problems or conflicts to meet the needs of external and internal customersAbility to be innovative in troubleshooting clinical/bio-distribution problemsMust demonstrate effective writing and verbal proficiency in internal and external communications and documentation procedures; presentation skillsAbility to promote teamwork within pharmacy location and region by treating staff members with respectMust fulfill a commitment to the professional ethics adopted by the pharmacy professionAbility to plan and implement plans effectively; make effective and timely decisions; and effectively manage a budget and administrative functionsManual dexterity; clear speech, general vision, hearingAbility to lift up to 55 lbsAbility to travel to regional meetings and to customer sites as neededValid driver's license and good driving record Comfortable working in a nuclear environmentComfortable with repetitive tasksAdvanced computer skills (Microsoft Office programs)
