Position Overview

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Imaging Department at Round Rock Medical Center. This weekday-only role offers a consistent 8–5 schedule, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and the opportunity to work with advanced Nuclear Medicine, PET, and Theranostic imaging in a collaborative hospital environment.

 

What You’ll Do

Perform Nuclear Medicine, PET, and Theranostic procedures, including planar, SPECT, and SPECT/CT exams.

Execute required quality control (QC) in compliance with RAM license, ACR standards, and manufacturer guidelines.

Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients; explain procedures and assess tolerance.

Prepare patients and imaging areas; use proper positioning and aseptic/sterile technique as needed.

Safely administer radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications per protocol.

Adhere to all radiation safety requirements, including pregnancy screening and radioactive material disposal.

Educate patients on radiation safety before and after exams/treatments.

Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicists, and imaging colleagues.

Ensure timely image transfer and documentation in PACS and EMR systems.

Assist with radiopharmaceutical inventory and department supplies.

Participate in call rotation, if required.

 

Key Success Factors

Ability to independently perform nuclear medicine and PET imaging with accuracy and efficiency.

Strong understanding of radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety.

Excellent patient communication and calm professionalism.

Attention to detail, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Willingness to serve as a trainer/preceptor for students and new team members.

Qualifications

Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program

ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT) required

Texas Medical Board (MRT) license required

BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire)

Hospital nuclear medicine experience preferred
