Job Description
The Fluence & Radiological Engineer position is within the Core Design and Safety Analysis organization in the Fuel Business Unit which is responsible for a broad range of activities including supporting vessel fluence analysis, source term and dose analysis, SFP criticality, transportation and shielding analysis.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for fluence and radiological analyses for commercial power plants. Typical assignments also include:
• Lead reload licensing activities as well as first-of-a-kind licensing activities to advance fuel management techniques or implement new methodologies for existing plants.
• Use optimization tools and automation to streamline the analyses.
• Participate in and support interfaces with customer and regulatory authorities to obtain regulatory approval of codes and methods.
• Prepare and review design reports, safety analyses, calculation files, and associated records.
Skills Needed
• You have pressurized water reactor (PWR) or boiling water reactor (BWR) vessel fluence analysis experience, dose/source term, and/or spent fuel pool criticality experience. (Note that most Criticality Safety Engineers do NOT have robust analysis experience)
• You have demonstrated experience in computer model development and application (e.g., SCALE, SERPENT, Open MC, MCNP, Atilla, OR Advantage and/or other nuclear industry analysis codes).
• Display positive and effective team interaction skills and value positive peer relationships
• Customer focus and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a passion for problem solving
Pay Rate Range - $70/hr-$90/hr dependent on relevant years of experience.

Skills and Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, or a related degree (e.g., physics with nuclear concentration).
Experience in computer model development and application (e.g., SCALE, SERPENT, Open MC, MCNP, or ATILLA
Minimum 5 years of experience doing Vessel Fluence Analysis (PWR preferred over BWR, but a mix is okay.)
Experience supporting vessel fluence analysis, source term and dose analysis, SFP criticality, transportation and shielding analysis.
