The Nuclear Engineer will play a key role in shaping the future of advanced reactor technology. You’ll dive deep into reactor core simulations, thermal-hydraulic analyses, shielding evaluations, and innovative thermomechanical modeling. Collaborate with a talented team to enhance the safety, performance, and efficiency of next-gen reactor designs.
Responsibilities
Reactor Core Simulation: Develop and maintain computational models for reactor physics and thermal-hydraulic behavior using tools like Serpent, MCNP, and OpenMC. Thermal-Hydraulic Analysis: Perform subchannel thermal-hydraulic simulations to evaluate coolant flow dynamics and heat transfer within advanced reactor cores. Shielding Analysis: Conduct shielding analyses employing sophisticated variance reduction techniques to ensure effective radiation protection. Fuel Performance & Thermomechanical Modeling: Use multi-physics platforms (MOOSE, BISON, BISON-MARMOT) for in-depth thermomechanical analysis of reactor components, evaluating stresses, deformation, and material performance under operational conditions. Uncertainty Quantification: Implement uncertainty quantification methods to enhance model robustness and confidence in simulation outcomes. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary teams, driving innovation and problem-solving in reactor core and system design.
