Nuclear Electrical Engineer - Remote

Principal Electrical Engineer – Nuclear responsible for design, modification, and evaluation of nuclear plant electrical systems in compliance with industry codes and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or related discipline.

20+ years of electrical engineering experience.

Minimum 10+ years of hands-on field experience in nuclear power plants.

Expertise in nuclear plant electrical systems, including power distribution, I&C, motor control centers, backup power, protection relays, and safety-related systems.

Familiarity with nuclear operating procedures, licensing processes, and NRC regulations.

Demonstrated experience in electrical system design, modifications, equipment selection, and system performance evaluation.

Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including IEEE, NEC/NFPA, ASME, NEMA, and nuclear-specific codes.

Preferred Skills

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Experience serving as technical lead or subject matter expert on nuclear plant electrical projects.

Experience interfacing with regulators, utilities, and independent review boards on technical issues.

Experience preparing and reviewing design basis documents, calculations, and technical justifications for regulatory submittals.

Job Responsibilities

Lead design, modification, and upgrade projects for nuclear plant electrical systems, including power distribution, I&C, MCCs, backup power, and protection systems.

Evaluate existing electrical systems and components for reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance, and recommend corrective or enhancement actions.

Develop and review electrical calculations, system studies, specifications, and drawings in accordance with IEEE, NEC/NFPA, ASME, NEMA, and nuclear-specific codes.

Support licensing and regulatory activities by preparing technical inputs, responding to NRC requests, and supporting audits and inspections.

Provide field engineering support during installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment.

Participate in and/or lead design reviews, hazard analyses, and technical evaluations to ensure system safety and compliance with nuclear requirements.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on nuclear electrical engineering best practices and standards.



Pay Details: $86.00 to $89.00 per hour
