Essential Functions: Responsible for designing and developing new products for aerospace industry. Key Responsibilities: + Designs and develops new products and product families reducing global requirement to conceptual designs then detailed designs. + Analyzes research data, prior art and relevant specifications to define the design space. + Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and validate design. + Participates in the preparation of invention reports and preparation of other documentation required to file and prosecute patents. + Prepares or coordinates preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings. + Coordinates building of prototype product. + Plans and develops experimental test programs, coordinates test programs. + Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. + Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to design product and simulate performance. + Works under the direction of a Sr. Engineer or Engineering Manager to manage new product development projects from concept development to design/product definition, verification and validation. Qualifications: + Master of Science degree (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical discipline + Minimum 6 months of experience in design, development, research and/or testing (including internships and project experience) + Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
