PRACTICE SPECIFICS:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
Practice Specifics:
Join a 3 physician practice working in a procedure based clinic settingIdeal candidate will have experience independently reading spine imaging and a familiarity with injection and surgical options all over the body but with a focus on spine. Surgical Assist skills are a bonus but not required. 1-2 OR days per month.Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm with no callPrimary location: Duluth, MN Outpatient Pain Management Clinic with Regional Outreach vs virtual clinicAPP will evaluate and develop comprehensive treatment plans for our new and existing patients’ and identify the specific conditions and patients’ needs to ultimately to decrease pain and increase function.There is no opioid prescribing Actively involved with the maintenance of a comprehensive spine program within the Essentia Health SystemAssessment and management of patients with long term issues; development of a plan of care in consultation with other specialists is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary approach to chronic and medical pain management providing care to a growing patient base.We enjoy excellent working relationships with a full continuum of Neuromusculoskeletal specialists, including: Neurosurgery, Neurology, Trauma/Critical Care, Orthopedic Surgery, Interventional Neuro-radiology, and Internal Medicine and all medicine subspecialtiesOutpatient therapy provided by therapists who sub-specialize in neuro, pediatric and musculoskeletal pain.Participation in regular back & neck management conference: peer to peer case review
EDUCATION:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Minnesota Current certification in CPR. National certification, in applicable area. Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
