PRACTICE SPECIFICS
The Critical Care APP will work independently as well as collaboratively with physician intensivists with patient admitting, rounding, and discharges as part of the Medical Critical Care service. Major responsibilities include:
Round and work-up patients for hospital consults on adult intensive care patients.Provide education to patients, family and staff.Coordinate and follow up on diagnostic studies, consultations, procedures, and family care conferences.Assist intensivists with procedures including bronchoscopies, central lines, arterial lines, chest tube insertion and intubation, and POCUSAssist with Quality work and other departmental projects as neededHours: Variable hours (10 or 12-hour shifts based on need), weekends and holidays0.75 - 1.0 FTEPREFERRED
Adult ICU experience as a practitioner or RNAcute Care experience as a practitionerLicensure/Certification Qualifications:NP:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in appropriate state
Current certification in CPR
National certification in applicable area
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice
PA:
Current licensure as a physician assistant in appropriate state
Current certification in CPR
National certification
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Current BLS and ACLS within 3 months of start
Current ENLS and privileged for Neurocritical Care within 3 months of start
