About the Role:
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to join our school-based healthcare team. The School Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for applying the nursing process and delivering student care in a dynamic educational setting. This role may also include supervisory responsibilities within contracted services.
You’ll work closely with paras, RNs, and behavioral staff to implement behavior plans and support students with special needs. Duties may include toileting assistance and riding the bus with students when needed.
All services are provided in accordance with Amergis Healthcare Staffing’s philosophy, standards, policies, and physician orders.
?? Responsibilities:
+ Monitor and support student health throughout the school day
+ Provide direct care and respond to health concerns and emergencies
+ Collaborate with school staff and families to promote wellness
+ Implement behavior plans in coordination with behavioral teams
+ Support students in general, inclusion, and self-contained classrooms
+ Float between classrooms or provide 1:1 care as assigned
?? Minimum Requirements:
+ Graduate of an accredited nursing program
+ Current LPN/LVN license in the state of practice
+ One year of professional experience (school or pediatric preferred)
+ Current CPR certification
+ TB screening or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Two reference checks (forms available in attachments)
+ Completion of Amergis LPN Checklist and competency exam
+ CPI training and Amergis CPT training (district-specific)
+ Required Assignment Confirmation form (to be signed upon acceptance)
