About the Role:
WilsonCounty Schools is seeking a dedicated ExceptionalChildren (EC) Teacher to provide high-quality services to specialeducation students. Under the direction of the Special Education ProgramAdministrator, the EC Teacher will adapt curriculum, instruction, and classroomenvironments to meet the needs of students with significant disabilities orunique learning challenges. This role requires collaboration with generaleducation staff, tutorial assistance, and specialized instruction to ensure allstudents have access to meaningful educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide individualized and adaptive instruction to students with exceptional needs.
+ Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement student programs.
+ Participate in IEP planning and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
+ Deliver tutorial assistance and consultation to support inclusion and student success.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
+ Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
+ Valid NC teaching certificate in Exceptional Children (EC) required.
+ Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
+ Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
