Managing over 10,000 patients every year, Cleveland Clinic has one of the largest, most comprehensive programs in the world for the evaluation, medical and surgical treatment of epilepsy in children and adults. Within the Epilepsy Department, you will be part of a family of caregivers committed to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies and surgical treatment options. As a Monitor Technician, you will perform continuous monitoring and EEG documentation on patients admitted for Epilepsy evaluation.

This role offers the opportunity to become a Registered Monitor Technician through ASET course work, which is the foundation to becoming a registered tech. Additionally, you can train to work both nerve conduction and EEG on this hands-on and supportive team.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00PM – 11:30PM, including every other or every 3rd weekend and every other holiday.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Gather data using closed circuit audio/visual equipment and electrophysiological recording instruments.
Utilize electrophysiological recording instruments using both surface recording electrodes and electrophysiological recording instruments.
Perform record keeping data using the computer and maintain daily logs of patients' status.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related patient care field
OR two years of patient care experience (may substitute for Associate’s Degree)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
One year of experience as a Non-Registered EEG Technician OR first year completion of an Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) credentialing for Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) within two years of hire
Physical Requirements:
Ability to assist with positioning and transporting of patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
