The primary function of this position is to grow the Non-Foods segment of the OpCo business. The Non-Foods Specialist is responsible for the growth and margin increase in the paper and disposables, cups and lids, cleaning products, and other Non-Foods item classes for the OpCo. Reporting to the V.P. of Sales, and working closely with the local OpCo President and his/her team, along with the AFFLINK Strategic Growth team, the Non-Foods Specialist position will perform the following duties: Provides consultative services to customers and supports OpCo Sales department for all Non-Foods businessProvides Merchandising support to sales by assisting in preparing bids, providing product education and training of our Account Executives, Customer Service, and Sales Management, recommending pricing strategies, and planning promotions as it relates to these productsProvides training for new hires with a focus on acquiring new Non-Foods accounts as well as growing the Non-Foods category in existing accountsResponsible for the evaluation of inventory for this item class to ensure the OpCo has the proper mix of products for customer’s needs and ease of selling for the sales staffAnalyzes Non-Food sales by district, territory, and customer, working with the VP of Sales to identify specific targets and growth goals while working with Area Managers to meet goalsRecruit, develop, and present to the OpCo new Suppliers and Non-Foods programs (both corporate and OpCo specific)Works with VP of Sales and Operations to oversee the Indirect Spend for the OpCo. Ensures utilization of Shopfront Online Order Portal for all Indirect/For-Use/Facility purchasesParticipates in meetings with sales and procurement management to discuss training and growth plansPlans and participates in routine meetings in conjunction with the appropriate preferred Non-Food SuppliersParticipates in the setup and operation of booths in vendor fairs, food shows, and sales meetings while maintaining appropriate lines of communication with sales reps and customersMaintains Non-Foods business analytics and dashboard and regularly reports this information to the appropriate OpCo personnel and AFFLINK Strategic Growth TeamWork with each salesperson and appropriate Suppliers to elevate their understanding of Non-Food Categories to drive growth in this areaMakes sales calls as appropriate to drive Non-Foods business within the OpCoWork with Procurement to identify and review non-preferred spend and convert that to branded items where possible Conduct regular meetings with the VP, Sales and OpCo president to discuss results and strategiesIdentify and drive synergies between AFFLINK and Performance FoodserviceFunctions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company
