Our Beachwood office is looking for a Scope Technician to join their team. You will work out of the Park East Endoscopy location in Beachwood and occasionally cover shifts at the concord location. In this position, you will work under the direction of a Licensed Nurse and Physician to perform various patient care activities and related services such as patient education. As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts.
This position offers opportunities for growth, including training to become a GI Tech and taking on additional responsibilities. If you complete the certification course and become certified, you can transition into a certified role and receive reimbursement for the cost of the exam.
A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Maintain clean and safe environment by cleaning and processing endoscopy instruments and equipment per policy maintaining PPE.
Perform patient rounds.
Tear down procedure rooms and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Perform case pull functions.
Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.
Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures.
Dispatch case carts to ensure they are available to surgical/clinical procedures.
Perform record keeping functions, e.g. processing, sterilization, quality assurance, etc.
Perform ordering, stocking and inventory control functions.
Maintain adequate levels and inventories.
Order and stock supplies.
Participate in in-service education.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to use the computerized instrument tracking system to perform assigned duties, including obtaining instrument count sheets, special handling instructions for instrumentation, documenting sterilization loads and other tasks
Basic computer skills
Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) within 18 months following the completion of the new hire period
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of healthcare experience or a similar background in mechanical/manufacturing assembly OR Military experience as a Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F) or similar will be considered

Physical Requirements:
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull and navigate supply carts weighing >than 75 pounds.
