PURPOSE

The NOLA Cluster Medical Director Provides leadership to all cross-cluster and in-country medical functions and is the NOLA Cluster medical voice both internally and externally (acting as Pfizer CMAO in the local country environment).

MAIN REPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

Directly leads medical affairs, ensuring operational excellence for customer-facing medical and ensuring new and effective ways of working with global medical platforms for evidence generation, medical enablement functions, etc.Partners with the NOLA Cluster Lead to ensure alignment with internal and external Cluster strategies and represents all medical and related functions at Cluster Leadership Team;Represents the immediate point of reference to the NOLA Cluster Lead and One-Medical face of Pfizer to external stakeholders, such as KOL’s, Industry Bodies, Regulatory Authorities, Government & Payers (in partnership with appropriate functional lines) and during Business Development discussions.Represents Pfizer medical through relationships with medical associations, societies, academic medical centres and industry associationsIn partnership with Global Medical Affairs, ensures Scientific Leadership and TA expertise by rigorous training and a single global medical “truth” asset by assetFlawlessly lead execution of g/local strategies, ensuring appropriate resource allocation to execute medical plans; Hyperfocus on priorities and activities, enabling focus on customer facing effort and impactCollaborates with medical quality and governance teams with respect to inspections, corporate governance and related complaintsAttends, or delegates attendance to NOLA Cluster country medical leads, the respective NOLA Cluster Medical Councils (CMC) with the purpose of maintaining compliance and information flow as well as to facilitate the resolution of issues that arise within any medical teams and partner functions

Education & Experience

An M.D. (preferred) or equivalent doctoral degree10+ years pharmaceutical background with team management experienceCMD experience is preferredTeaching courses at university/academic appointments is a plusDiscussing innovation and pharma, change agileActive member of pharmaceutical associations / patient groupsStrong business acumen with deep financial and accounting knowledge in life sciencesBudget management experienceBusiness decision-making at hospitals and pharmaceutical companiesFinancial impact forecasting for various stakeholder groups (patients, etc.)
