Night Hospitalist responsible for direct patient care by reviewing patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families. At Abbott Northwestern, you’ll deliver overnight inpatient care with the backing of 24/7 resources, advanced technology, and a team committed to clinical excellence.
Location: Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN
Setting: Large urban quaternary care center with full specialty coverage
Schedule: Full-time night hospitalist (nocturnist) with flexible, consistent overnight shifts
Team Composition: Part of a large hospitalist group (80+ physicians), including 6 nocturnists and 4+ APPs
Patient Volume: Manage complex inpatient cases and admissions during overnight hours

Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the attending physician for medical inpatients overnight
Admit and stabilize acutely ill patients
Coordinate with ICU, emergency medicine, and specialty services
Provide consultation and procedural care within your scope
Use Excellian, one of the most comprehensive electronic health record systems in the country.
Job Requirements
MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
BE/BC with ABMS or AOA in Internal Medicine required.
Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.
ACLS/BLS - required within 180 days of hire

Pay Range
Pay Range: $337,400 to $353,100 per yearThe pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).Benefit Summary
