What you'll do The Batam Network Operations Centre (NOC) is responsible for ensuring the availability of Viasat services, particularly BGAN, L-band lease services, Inmarsat-C, and Value-Added Services. The NOC Manager leads and supervises the 24/7 Batam NOC Controller Team, ensuring optimal team performance through coaching and development. The role involves managing operations, coordinating incident response, supporting continuity through roster management, and ensuring quality and performance standards. The day-to-day Lead, manage, and motivate the Batam NOC team to ensure effective operations Meet or exceed service availability targets Support incident response and service restoration in case of degradation or outages Produce and review incident reports and supervise tickets Coordinate maintenance, operations, and training activities Facilitate satellite outage rehearsals with relevant teams Provide detailed performance and operational reports Integrate new business services and tools into the NOC Present weekly NOC incident briefings to senior management Drive onboarding of new services and products Collaborate with engineering and customer operations teams Conduct regular performance reviews and develop training plans Set individual targets aligned with business priorities Chair meetings and maintain action item follow-ups Maintain accurate procedures, documentation, and contact records Identify and implement continuous improvement and automation opportunities Plan resources and manage the 24/7 roster Approve monthly time sheets and manage leave/training scheduling What you'll need Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in the same or similar role, involving team leadership and 24/7 NOC operations Fluent in English with effective verbal and written communication skills Proven leadership and operational management experience Ability to lead through change in a dynamic environment Solid understanding of ITIL framework Strong understanding of DevOps operating model principles and workflows; hands-on experience with DevOps environments is preferred Strong interpersonal, coaching, and analytical skills Structured and decisive under pressure Customer-focused approach Ability to work both independently and collaboratively High integrity, respectful, and patient What will help you on the job Experience with network monitoring tools and Viasat products Knowledge of RF, IP switching and routing (CCNA or higher preferred) Familiarity with operating systems (Unix, Linux, Juniper, Cisco, VMS, MS) Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency An English TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 550 (PBT) or an equivalent qualification is a plus Special Working conditions: Required to be on-call as Duty Manager Handle operational information with confidentiality Must be flexible and willing to travel internationally for job-related purposes and to work abroad for short durations when required EEO Statement Viasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
