The purpose of this position is to leverage the expertise of a highly experienced Surgical Registered Nurse who has recently retired and is motivated to share their knowledge with newer nurses within the organization. This role involves delivering professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. **A caregiver in this position works days, from 7:00am-3:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide clinical nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center. + Oversee the clinical practice of nursing in the ASC including assessing patient care needs and planning the delivery of care. + Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after a procedure. + Prepare ORs, surgical instruments and equipment for use. + Perform scrub functions, such as the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Administer prescribed medications and treatments. + Provide health education to patients and families. + Process patients through the ASC. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program) + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) + 3 years of experience in the ASC OR RN position at Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (willing to obtain upon rehire) + **For those caring for pediatric population, completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon rehire (If assigned in a circulator role, ACLS and PALS are not required) Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) **Physical Requirements:** + Requires standing and walking for periods of time. + May require full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. + Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. + Possible exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. + Medium Work - May include exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. **Pay Range** Minimum hourly: $39.00 Maximum hourly: $39.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
