Night Crew Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service & Sales

Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via: Telephone In-store intercom announcements One-on-one customer interaction Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed.

Night Operations & Planning

Assist with planning nightly operations, monitoring production processes, and ensuring adherence to company procedures and profitability. Monitor employee productivity and ensure department standards are met. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including but not limited to: Opening/Closing duties Dairy and Frozen operations Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures.

Merchandising & Display

Build grocery displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Assist with coordinating grocery sales promotions. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed; maintain clean and properly organized shelves. Enforce proper code dating for all products within the department.

Inventory Control & Stocking

Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain inventory levels per division directives. Stock and rotate product to maintain freshness. May assist with physical inventory every 6 months. Control shrink and costs through proper handling and processes. Supervise processing of reclamation and maintain orderly, in-stock conditions in the back room and all Grocery Department areas.

Receiving & Back Room Operations

Perform receiving duties: Break down loads and verify orders using invoices. Inspect product quality; report shortages. Stock and rotate product per guidelines. Adhere to product temperature and storage requirements; follow proper packaging techniques. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.

Product Preparation & Equipment

Implement correct product preparation techniques. Safely use and operate department equipment and tools, including: Pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters Sterilox machine (or similar sanitizing equipment)

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

Ensure compliance with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, Company policies, and code-dating standards. Maintain working knowledge of Company policies and guidelines (per the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook). Follow and maintain all departmental standards and requirements.

Safety, Cleanliness & Sanitation

Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of: Work area and display area Cooler and equipment Code date compliance as required Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or computer software malfunctions.

Systems & Ordering

May operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product and manage workflow.

Administrative & Recordkeeping

Accurately complete, maintain, and monitor: Daily log sheets Sales and labor reports Other required paperwork and logs
