Job DescriptionNBC News is seeking a Newsletter Writer/Editor. This journalist will support a weekday afternoon general news newsletter that will feature NBC News talent. The newsletter is part of the NBC News subscription product. The newsletter will deliver readers an engaging and useful digest of the most important news of the day and a look behind the scenes of how NBC News is reporting a story.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with NBC News talent to identify and write up the major storylines of the day.Identify fresh stories and reporting from inside NBC News that should be surfaced in the newsletter, managing the tone and polishing, and sending the final product.Serves as the newsletter’s direct liaison with the audience development team, platforms team, and other key stakeholders.The role is from Monday-Friday, and the hours will align with the newsletter’s send schedule. This role is also represented by the News Guild – NY CWA. The person will initially report to the NBC News Digital Senior Executive Editor.
QualificationsAt least 8 years of experience as a journalistExperience writing or editing a successful newsletter is preferredDedication to accuracy, fairness, and NBC News standardsExcellent communication skillsExcellent writing skills

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
