Your Impact
At Jacobs, we are using our solutions to create a more connected and sustainable world - environmentally and socially. As a vital member of our team as a Program Manager Design, you’ll have the opportunity to:
• Lead in the creation of construction package developments.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams on projects from concept through completion.
• Provide utility coordination and ensure alignments are engineered correctly.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering professionals and mentor younger staff.
• Directly engage with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a senior executive shaping strategic projects with clients and work as a principal as part of our delivery teams.
• Spearhead Jacobs’ resilience strategy for NYC, participating fully in Jacobs' global market strategy and connecting with regional leadership & talent.
• Strengthen Jacobs’ relationships with city agencies, working closely with our Client Account Management team.
• Shape and be at the forefront of project creation/definition, positioning Jacobs early in the project development process.
• Mentor and partner with our Client Account Management teams and Design & Delivery Managers.
• Advise clients on the right holistic delivery approach, including creating high-performing teams, assessing the best fitting delivery model, and supply chain preparedness.
• Take a Project Executive role on Design Build and Progressive Design Build Projects in New York, leading contractor relationships and ensuring successful project delivery.
• Raise Jacobs’ brand externally, working closely with our Marketing Comms team to develop a local strategy & action plan, and represent Jacobs at targeted external events.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Architecture.
• Previous leadership experience and comfort mentoring junior and mid-level staff.
• Substantial professional experience on rail and transit projects in/around the Tri-State Area.
• Previous experience in a client-facing role and ability to serve as a liaison between Jacobs and the client.
• Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project desired).
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong focus on client and contractor service.
• Ability to assemble plan sets meeting client and contractor expectations.
• Strong business acumen and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong understanding of project management concepts including planning and budgeting, fee development, writing scopes of work, creating work breakdown structures, and project delivery schedules for design and related services.
