New Project Engineer

 Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field)3-5 years of technical engineering experience.Strong proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).Hands‑on experience with electromechanical components, crimping tools, or precision assembly is a plus.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an ability to interpret testing, failure data, and engineering measurements.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.Effective communicator able to collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners.Experience with Lean, DFM/DFA, or continuous improvement principles is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Power BI and Minitab experience preferred.

Salary Range:

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $68,600 - $110,500/year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly driven New Product Implementation (NPI) Engineer to drive the technical development, validation, and manufacturing readiness of new products. This role is deeply engineering‑focused, requiring strong design capability, hands‑on problem solving, and the ability to translate complex functional requirements into reliable, manufacturable product solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and building high‑quality products from the ground up.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the engineering design, prototyping, and refinement of new products from concept to production readiness.Develop detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Evaluate design feasibility, manufacturability, and performance using engineering principles and industry best practices. Conduct tolerance stack-ups, material selections, and design trade-off analyses to ensure robust product performance.Quality Engineering and Continuous Improvement:Analyze test data, production feedback, and failure modes to identify improvement opportunities.Create and maintain DFMEAs and PFMEAs to anticipate and mitigate risks in design and process.Lead containment, corrective actions, and long‑term technical improvements for design‑related quality concerns.Establish engineering standards, inspection criteria, and key quality checkpoints for new products.
