New Product Development Manager
Job Description: New Product Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced New Product Development Manager to lead and manage our innovative projects and resources. The role involves supervising direct reports, developing product and process requirements, and creating documentation for new and modified products. You will also be responsible for researching new sources of materials and designing improvements to existing products and processes.

Responsibilities

Manage projects, timelines, and resources effectively.Supervise responsibilities and activities of direct reports.Develop product and production process requirements, standards, and associated documentation.Prepare documentation packages for new and modified products and processes.Research suppliers and new sources of products, materials, equipment, and components.Design improvements to products and processes.Understand and follow all organization and department safety policies and procedures.Interpret customer, agency, and market requirements to define appropriate design specifications.Prepare technical briefs and support literature for products.Create prototype design packages, collaborating with support functions as required.Develop prototype and pre-production build schedules, manage schedules, and align resources to achieve timelines.Perform product, process, and system audits, maintain logs, and analyze data.Perform analysis of failed or returned materials and assist in developing corrective actions.Assist with determining disposal of non-conforming products and components.Evaluate yield, performance, and other statistical data for trends and develop corresponding product or process improvements.Actively develop employees through coaching and feedback, job assignments and rotation, and on-the-job training.Develop training tools and programs for technical orientation and training of new employees.Understand and clarify customers' needs and provide product application support.Provide support to production staff with manufacturing processes.Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.Minimum of 10 years’ job-related experience, with flexibility based on previous company and responsibilities.Project management and supervisory training experience.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and Internet access software programs such as Smartsheet.Familiarity with Business and ERP systems.Understanding of CNC machining center functions and material properties.Familiarity with Lean, DFT, ISO, and DFM Quality principles.Demonstrated ability to function as a team leader in a team-based organizational environment.Demonstrated understanding and practical application of manufacturing test equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in project management, new product development, and operations management.SolidWorks experience.CNC Machining, industrial engineering, and electrical engineering experience.Leadership skills with experience working across different divisions and managing processes, operations, deadlines, and audits.Great communication skills for working directly with clients.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
