New Product Development Intern (Summer 2026)

Emerson Tool Company is seeking a New Product Development Intern to support new product initiatives and assist with ongoing product improvements. Based in our St. Louis, MO location, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment and gain hands‑on experience in product development.
**In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:**
+ Assist with on-going research to support new product development. This can include online surveys, in depth one-on-one phone or in person interviews, and/or observational research. Help organize the findings and present recommendations for how we can use them for future product enhancements.
+ Review previously completed research and facilitate sorting/cataloging/organizing for future use.
+ Implement a procedure for capturing/sorting/cataloging/organizing data on current competitive products and new launches.
+ Become a key user of the current tools that the company currently uses for obtaining consumer and competitive insights. Facilitate reporting of review summaries and key sentiments to help drive business action and vision.
+ Help to refine product offerings and uncover operational efficiencies by writing discontinuation notices for products that should be phased out.
+ Support the assembly of customer networks that contain key personas and can be referenced for prototype and product launch field tests.
+ Develop critical product knowledge around our filter and accessory compatibility across competitive products.
+ Gain understanding of Emerson Tool Company's new product development phase gate process and contribute to the development of new products by participating on project teams and supporting project deliverables.

**For This Role, You Will Need:**
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
+ Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role
**Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:**
+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management
+ Experience with both Quantitative and Qualitative research preferred.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Project
+ Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
+ Be highly self-motivated with ability to work independently and/or in teams effectively
