The New Porgera Limited is now inviting express of interest to join our Trade Traineeship Program—a technical development initiative designed to help trade trainees and Trade Assistants grow into competent technical professionals within our diverse operations at Porgera.

 

About the NPL Trade Traineeship Program

The New Porgera Limited (NPL) Trade Traineeship Program offers Papua New Guineans the opportunity to build a long-term career in the mining industry through structured, hands-on trade training at the Porgera Gold Mine.

Trainees will gain practical on-the-job experience, work alongside skilled tradespeople, and complete nationally recognised trade qualifications in a safe and supportive environment.

This program reflects NPL’s commitment to developing local talent, with a strong focus on Porgera Landowners, Enga Province communities, and PNG nationals, creating pathways to sustainable employment and future career growth.

Heavy Equipment Fitting

Auto Electrical

Electrical Mechanic

Maintenance Fitting & Machining

Light Vehicle Mechanic

Metal Fabrication & Welding

Belt Splicing

Carpentry & Construction

Plumbing

 

About You

To succeed in this role, the motivated young man and women who have; 

Completed technical training at a recognized institution

Participated in a Job Ready Program

Worked as Trade Assistants and wish to advance their careers

Come from the Native Ipili Speaking Clans, with Category 1 and Category 2

Certified copies of educational qualifications and trade certificates

Police clearance certificate (issued within the last 6 months)
