Job Summary:
A lovely family based in East Sussex is seeking a reliable and friendly nanny/babysitter to care for their 10-and-a-half-year-old daughter on a temporary basis as maternity cover. The role offers stable weekday hours, with occasional Saturdays required due to the parents’ frequent work-related travel. The nanny will need to pick up and drop off the child on select days, so having your own car is essential. A spare bedroom is available for overnight stays, specifically on Monday nights, as the mother travels and the father works in London. Duties include helping with dinner, bath time, and general evening routines. Comfort around animals is important, as the household includes two cats and three dogs. The family has a housekeeper, and the child has no allergies. The grandmother also lives in the home, and both parents are actively involved.
Key responsibilities include picking up the child on Mondays at 5 p.m., staying overnight, and dropping her at school by 8 a.m. the next day. Additional shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. will involve pickup, dinner, and bath time. Occasional weekend support may also be required. The nanny will also be expected to read to the child and encourage her to read aloud as part of the evening routine. Light food preparation for the child is expected. The family is looking for someone to start as soon as possible, ideally shadowing immediately, with a formal start date between mid-October and early November.
