Job Summary:  

A warm and quiet family is seeking a kind, professional, and experienced afterschool nanny to care for their 8-month-old baby five days a week. As first-time parents, they are looking for someone who can confidently manage all aspects of infant care while offering reassurance and support as they navigate early parenthood. With the mother returning to work next month, reliable and consistent help will be essential during this transitional time. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with babies under one year, including knowledge of feeding, weaning, and developmental milestones such as crawling and walking.

This is an afternoon role that will focus on collecting the child from nursery, preparing meals, engaging in play, and helping with the evening routine, including getting the child ready for bed. The family is looking for someone calm, tidy, and discreet—someone who naturally fits into the home, maintains a clean and organized space, and respects their privacy. A nanny who lives nearby is preferred for flexibility and emergency availability. While the family can provide a car, candidates who have their own vehicle are strongly preferred. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a dedicated nanny who hopes to grow with a kind and respectful family.

 

General Duties:

Provide comprehensive care for the child, including all daily nanny responsibilities. Support and follow the child’s daily routine, ensuring their needs are met consistently. Perform nursery duties, such as keeping play areas and the child’s bedroom tidy and organized, as well as handling laundry. Plan and organize engaging activities and outings to support the child’s developmental milestones. Help the child reach important developmental milestones and provide appropriate guidance. Create a warm, loving, and nurturing atmosphere for the child to thrive in. Nursery pick-ups.

 

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience working in private households, with a preference for longer-term roles with the same family. A nurturing, caring, and friendly demeanour, with a genuine passion for childcare. Proven experience working with children of a similar age, with a solid understanding of supporting various developmental milestones. Strong recent experience working with babies, demonstrating expertise in managing their needs. Reliable, trustworthy, and professional, with a proactive approach to childcare. Childcare qualifications, including current first aid certification. Driver needed Car available but own car preferred.

 

Enhanced DBS check required at offer stage & and a current First Aid Certificate
